Audio & Voice Validation Engineer

We seek an experienced Audio & Voice Validation Engineer to lead the testing, validation, and performance analysis of voice and audio systems in consumer electronics. This role will focus on evaluating latency, ANC (Active Noise Cancellation), clear voice quality, noise cancellation, and audio streaming performance across different codecs and wireless protocols. The ideal candidate will be skilled in audio measurement tools, validation methodologies, and protocol-level testing.

Responsibilities:

Audio & Voice Performance Testing

  • Develop and execute test plans for end-to-end audio latency, ANC, noise cancellation, and voice clarity.
  • Measure and analyze voice quality metrics, including MOS (Mean Opinion Score), SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio), and distortion levels.
  • Perform acoustic and psychoacoustic testing to evaluate speech intelligibility, noise suppression, and beamforming performance.
  • Conduct listening tests and objective measurements to validate ANC effectiveness in various environments.
  • Utilize Head Acoustics test systems and other specialized hardware for voice and audio validation.

Testing Tools & Automation

  • Utilize Head Acoustics hardware and software for comprehensive audio validation.
  • Operate audio analyzers, artificial ears, artificial mouths, and RF sniffers.
  • Automate test execution using Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW.
  • Integrate test frameworks into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in audio and voice validation, DSP, or acoustic engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with audio test systems (Head Acoustics, Brüel & Kjær, Audio Precision, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of audio signal processing, speech quality assessment, and psychoacoustics.
  • Proficiency in testing Bluetooth audio streaming and voice processing.
  • Familiarity with Bluetooth stack, LE Audio, and wireless audio protocols.
  • Strong debugging skills using spectrum analyzers, sniffers, and protocol analyzers.
  • Knowledge of wireless coexistence and RF interference mitigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in automating audio tests using Python .
  • Understanding of adaptive ANC and AI-based noise reduction algorithms.
  • Experience with real-time DSP tuning for voice and audio processing.
  • Familiarity with mobile OS audio stacks (Android, iOS, Linux, Windows).
