Procurement Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly driven and technically skilled Procurement expert to lead sourcing and procurement and supply chain activities for R&D and NPI and early-stage production. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with deep knowledge in electronics, mechanics, and components, who thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.

This is a critical role for someone eager to influence design decisions, improve sourcing efficiency, and build strong supplier partnerships that support our long-term growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead end-to-end procurement processes for NPI and early-stage builds
  • Collaborate with R&D and Engineering to align sourcing decisions with technical and commercial requirements
  • Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers for electronics, mechanical parts, and custom assemblies
  • Drive cost negotiations, lead time optimization, and sourcing risk mitigation
  • Ensure material readiness and on-time delivery to support development milestones
  • Establish procurement infrastructure and documentation (RFQs, POs, BOM pricing, AVL management)
  • Partner with Contract Manufacturers to manage the commercial side of outsourced production
  • Define and implement sourcing strategies to support scalability and flexibility in supply
  • Track procurement KPIs and cost-saving initiatives
  • Contribute to supplier audits, qualification, and performance monitoring

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, and supply chain, ideally in high-tech, startup, or hardware companies
  • Strong technical understanding of electronics, mechanics, and hardware components
  • Experience managing procurement for NPI and pre-production builds
  • Knowledge of BOMs, AVL, supplier management, and quality standards
  • Comfortable working with R&D, Engineering, and Contract Manufacturers
  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and procurement tools Strong negotiation, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with compliance standards (RoHS, REACH, UL, etc.)
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Self-motivated, problem-solver, and able to thrive in dynamic environments
