Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on NPI & Production Engineer to drive new product introductions (NPIs) and ensure a seamless transition from design to scalable production. In this role, you’ll bridge R&D, Operations, and Manufacturing—owning configuration, change management, and production readiness. You’ll play a key role in ensuring product data integrity, robust manufacturing processes, and efficient, high-quality production lines that enable successful product launches.
*This role is fully onsite*
Responsibilities:
- Partner with R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality to ensure designs are manufacturable and production-ready
- Own configuration management: BOMs, part numbers, product structures, specifications, drawings, and compliance documentation
- Manage engineering and manufacturing changes (ECOs, MCOs, DCOs, deviations, revision control)
- Administer and optimize PLM systems, ensuring data integrity and smooth integration with ERP
- Design and implement production lines, assembly processes, testers, jigs, and fixtures
- Support tech transfer, pilot builds, and ramp-up to volume manufacturing
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (WIs, process flows, build instructions)
- Define and implement incoming inspection, in-line testing, and quality checks
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve manufacturing and quality issues
- Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis, KPI monitoring (yield, cost, throughput), and process optimization
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field; Master’s/certification a plus
- 4+ years of experience in NPI, production, or manufacturing engineering with multidisciplinary hardware products
- Strong knowledge of BOMs, product structures, change control, and PLM/ERP systems
- Hands-on experience with jigs, testers, fixtures, and production line setup
- Proven experience in NPI and tech transfer from prototype to mass production
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, quality methods, and process validation
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
- Familiarity with standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, ROHS, REACH) and Lean Six Sigma is an advantage
